• The bill allocates a total of $1,550,000 for the construction of a trail segment connecting Detroit Lakes to Frazee. If any funds remain after this project, they are to be used for environmental review, preliminary engineering, and design for other segments of the Heartland Trail.
• An additional $2,240,000 is earmarked for the environmental review, predesign, design, and construction of a paved multiple-use trail. This trail will connect Itasca State Park to the Heartland State Trail, starting at the park's contact station to the southeast boundary and includes a Phase 1 tunnel under U.S. Highway 71.
