This bill proposes allocating $250,000 in the year 2026 from the workforce development fund to the Northside Boxing Club. The money would be used to fund a program that teaches business and life skills to youth. This program will combine boxing training with mentorship from professional barbers, who will serve as positive role models. Participants in the program will learn important skills such as customer service, communication, money management, and professionalism. Additionally, Northside Boxing Club will provide extra services like meals, nutritional education, homework help, and tutoring to support the youth in the program. This funding is a one-time offer and will be available until June 30, 2027.
