This bill appropriates funds for workforce development in Minnesota. It allocates $2 million in fiscal year 2026 and $2 million in fiscal year 2027 from the workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to Summit Academy OIC. The grant will be used to:

• Expand student enrollment, employment placement, and program access in the Twin Cities and across Minnesota.
  
• Enhance GED preparation and administration.
  
• Expand STEM programming.
  
• Launch and enroll students in a dental assistant program.
  
• Collaborate with employers to place students into jobs after completing the program.
