The bill S.F. No. 2047 proposes an appropriation of $1,250,000 for fiscal years 2026 and 2027 from Minnesota’s arts and cultural heritage fund to the Minnesota Humanities Center. These funds will be used for grants awarded to community-based organizations, cities, and counties to support cultural festivals and events across Minnesota. Eligible expenses include event programming, staffing, outreach, transportation, facility and equipment rentals, and signage.

Additionally, up to $200,000 may be allocated for public safety expense reimbursements to county sheriff departments involved in festival and event security.
