This bill (S.F. No. 2166) appropriates $2.5 million from the general fund for fiscal year 2026 to the commissioner of employment and economic development. The funds are designated as a grant to Wilsons Image Holding LLC for the renovation of an existing commercial building on West Broadway in North Minneapolis. The project, called Swank Eatery, will serve as a food hall featuring a brewery and taproom, restaurants, and dining space.

The appropriation covers costs for demolition, environmental cleanup, abatement, and other necessary improvements to make the space safe, modern, and functional. The funds remain available until the project is either completed or abandoned, in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
