This bill proposes to provide financial support to the MacPhail Center for Music through the Department of Education. The funding, which amounts to $250,000 in both 2026 and 2027, is intended to help expand the "Learning with Music" program. The objectives of this expansion are twofold: firstly, to develop and offer professional development training for early childhood educators across the state, available both online and in-person, based on the successful strategies of the existing program. Secondly, the funds will enhance direct programming at five early childhood centers in the Twin Cities area, particularly targeting support for children facing economic difficulties. This initiative aims to use the model programs at these centers to guide broader program expansion.
