This bill, introduced in the Minnesota Senate as S.F. No. 1625, appropriates $7 million from the general fund in fiscal year 2026 to the Commissioner of Employment and Economic Development. The funds will be used for a grant to Comunidades Organizando el Poder y la Acción Latina (COPAL) to design, construct, furnish, and equip a new Latino Center for Community Engagement (LCCE).

The LCCE will provide working spaces for COPAL and partner organizations and function as a training center to support workforce development and employment. The appropriation remains available until the project is completed or abandoned, following Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642. This is a one-time funding allocation.
