The bill aims to expand the Greater Minnesota Business Development Public Infrastructure Grant Program by amending a section of the Minnesota Statutes. It broadens the types of economic development projects eligible for grant funding. Eligible projects now include manufacturing, technology, warehousing and distribution, research and development, agricultural processing, and the development of industrial parks even if no business has yet committed to locating there. Additionally, commercial development is included, with a provision allowing up to 15 percent of a project's development to be for purposes not listed as eligible, pending approval from the commissioner.
