• Commissioner's Authority:

  • The commissioner is empowered to determine the number of escort vehicles needed and whether they should be operated by licensed peace officers.
  • The commissioner can require extra escorts for public safety or to prevent road damage, or reduce the number of escorts if alternative safety measures are proposed by the load carrier.
