The bill SF No 549 is a proposal for the state of Minnesota to allocate $16,600,000 in the year 2026 to help the city of Hastings build three water treatment plants. These facilities will be designed to remove harmful chemicals called PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) from the city's water supply. This funding will also cover the costs to design and equip these plants, as well as to construct related water mains.
