This Minnesota House bill proposes an appropriation of $8.4 million from the general fund for fiscal year 2026 to the commissioner of public safety. The funds will be used for grants to school districts, nonpublic schools, charter schools, and school bus service providers to purchase and install school bus stop-signal arm camera systems.

The commissioner must follow the same grant awarding requirements as outlined in a 2021 law (First Special Session, Chapter 5, Article 1, Section 4, Subdivision 5). The appropriation is one-time funding and will be available until June 30, 2027.
