This bill proposes a new law in Minnesota that would prohibit the sale of state-owned land located wholly or partially within the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). It specifies that the restriction applies to lands where school trust interests have been extinguished, university lands granted to the state by Congress, and any other state-acquired lands under the control of the Commissioner of Natural Resources.

However, the bill does not prohibit land exchanges, meaning that state-owned lands in the BWCAW can still be swapped for other lands.

Additionally, the bill repeals an existing statute, Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 92.82, which presumably governed the sale of such lands.
