This bill proposes the establishment of Philando Castile Restoration and Unity Days as an annual observance in Minnesota, to be recognized on July 6 and 7 each year.

• July 6 is designated as Philando Castile Restoration Day, encouraging individuals to connect across communities, listen to others’ stories, seek understanding, and promote unity.
  
• July 7 is designated as Philando Castile Unity Day, meant to honor Castile’s life and legacy, as well as remember all individuals lost to police violence.
  

The bill acknowledges Philando Castile’s contributions as a nutrition service supervisor in Saint Paul Public Schools, particularly his generosity in paying for students' meals. It also recognizes his tragic death during a police traffic stop on July 6, 2016, in Falcon Heights, Minnesota.

Furthermore, the bill mandates that the governor annually issue proclamations in recognition of these observances.
