This bill proposes appropriating $627,000 from Minnesota's general fund in fiscal year 2026 for economic development in rural Minnesota. The funds will be granted to Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA) through the Commissioner of Employment and Economic Development.

CEDA will use the funds to:
1. Provide economic development technical assistance to small rural communities that cannot afford such services.
2. Design, implement, market, and administer community and economic development programs tailored to specific local needs.
3. Allocate up to $270,000 for economic development project implementation in conjunction with the technical assistance.

This appropriation is one-time funding.
